From the 2025/26 Financial Year, the Ministry of Youth Development (MYD) – Te Manatū Whakahiato Taiohi is establishing the Youth Development Partnership and Innovation Fund (YDPIF), valued at $3 million per annum.
MYD is seeking to establish partner funding relationships with businesses, philanthropic funders, iwi and other funders who have an interest in co-investing in early intervention and prevention youth development initiatives.
You should only proceed with the EOI if you have a minimum $100,0000 per year available funding to co-invest.
The overarching purpose of MYD's funding is to 'improve outcomes for young people, aged 12 - 24 years, through youth development.'
MYD funded initiatives target young people with low to moderate needs/identified risk factors with outcome driven services.
Initiatives funded through the YDPIF will be required to have strong alignment with and contribute to supporting the following key Government targets and priorities:
-
- Fewer (young) people on the Jobseeker Support Benefit (Government Target 5).
- Increased student attendance (Government Target 6).
- Supporting young parents, aged 12-24 years, with children in their first 2,000 days (aligned with the Child and Youth Strategy priorities).
